Platte River Wilderness 2019

Join the men of Wilderness Outreach and the fathers and sons (ages 14-17) from the Diocese of Columbus for its fourth expedition into the Platte River Wilderness of Wyoming. The men of Wilderness Outreach are adopting the Platte Ridge Trail system. This coming year will attempt to clear and connect the trail to where it intersects with the Douglass Creek Trail. At the end of the expedtion the men will summit the highest peak in the region, Medicine Bow Peak at 12,000' +

 

In order to be accepted on an expedition all men and boys are required to complete a registration process.

  1. Fill out and submit a registration form with a $25 non refundable registration fee that goes toward the expedition participation fee. To obtain the registration form email wildernessoutreach2560@gmail.com with the subject line: Expedition Registration
  2. A Phone interview must be completed following reciept of the registration and fee. To schedule your phone interview email wildernessoutreach2560@gmail.com subject line: Expedition Enterview 
  3. The balance of fees must be recieved 60 days before the expedition date. 
  4. An assumption of risk must be completed and submitted within 30 days of the expedition date. To obtain the assumption of risk form email your request to wildernessoutreach2560@gmail.com with subject line:  Assumption of Risk
  5. All adult males participating in a father and son or young men retreat must present a certificate of completion of a Catholic Church approved Protecting God's Children course and County Sherrif / FBI fingerprint protocol that is on file with your local diocese.
  6. Any cancellation within 30 days of the expedition will result in the loss of the entire fee. However it can be used as a full crediti for participation in a future expedition
